Terms of Service
These terms apply to the services provided by BF Group (“we” or “the preparer”), including tax preparation and document preparation. By engaging our services, you (“the client”) agree to them.
1. Scope of services
Our agreement covers only the services expressly described in your proposal. Unless explicitly stated in writing, it does not include, among others: RFE or NOID responses for USCIS, legal representation, court appearances, address changes, additional petitions or applications, audit representation, legal advice, or representation before the IRS or any other federal or state taxing authority. Any of these requires a separate written agreement and additional fees.
2. No legal advice
BF Group is not a law firm, and no member of our team is a licensed attorney in the United States. We do not provide legal advice, legal strategies or legal representation, and we are not authorized to represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, NVC, the IRS or any court.
3. Your information
You confirm that all information, explanations and documents you provide are true, complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge. You also confirm that all records and forms you provide accurately reflect your financial activity or that of your business, including but not limited to: all income and revenue; Forms W-2; Forms 1099 (such as 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, 1099-K, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-B, 1099-R, 1099-G, 1099-S and SSA-1099); Schedules K-1; Forms 1098 (mortgage interest, tuition and student loan interest); Form 1095-A for health insurance; bank statements; Zelle transfers; cash deposits; capital contributions; bookkeeping and expense records; and Social Security numbers and ITINs.
You agree to notify us of any change in your personal circumstances, address or contact information.
4. How we prepare tax returns
- We prepare federal, state and local returns solely from the information, explanations and documents you provide.
- We are not engaged to audit, examine or verify that information. Our services are limited to preparing and completing the forms for your returns under the IRS regulations for tax return preparers, including Circular 230 and the applicable due diligence standards. We rely on your information in good faith, without independent verification.
- When supporting records are incomplete or unavailable, transactions such as cash contributions, transfers between personal and business accounts, member capital contributions or undocumented financial activity may be recorded based solely on your representations. You accept full responsibility for their accuracy and legitimacy.
- You must review your completed return carefully before signing. Responsibility for its final content remains entirely with you, and your signature confirms that it is true, correct and complete.
5. Records and audits
You are solely responsible for keeping proper accounting records and supporting documentation for all reported income, expenses, capital contributions and financial transactions. In any inquiry, examination or audit by the IRS or any other taxing authority, you remain fully responsible for substantiating every amount reported. We may retain the records and documents used in our work for up to seven (7) years, in line with standard record retention practices.
6. Liability
We are not liable for penalties, interest, additional taxes or other consequences resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information you provide. We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties or by government processing times, including those of USCIS, EOIR or NVC.
7. Timing
Once we receive all required documents, we have up to 15 business days to complete the preparation, unless otherwise agreed.
8. Payment and refunds
- The full agreed amount must be paid before any application or package is mailed, submitted or delivered, and before any tax return is filed.
- All service fees are non-refundable once the service has been started, worked on and/or filed, regardless of the outcome.
- Credit and debit card processing fees are charged by the third-party payment processor at the time of payment. They are not part of our service fee, are non-refundable and are outside our control.
